Book a Video Consultation with a Specialist Dermatologist


We now offer real time video consultation with our dermatologists for diagnosis and treatment plans for many skin conditions. If you have noticed a change to your skin and would like to have one of our dermatologists assess the condition, please book a video consultation with us.

The types of skin conditions we can diagnose and provide a treatment plan through a video consultation include acne, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, and male and female pattern hair loss. We can review one or a few skin lesions of concern that have appeared on your skin.

We are not able to offer full body mole checks or full body skin cancer checks through a video consultation. These checks will need be to performed in our clinic with one of our dermatologists.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Book a video appointment
Click on "Book a Video Appointment" button and follow the prompts to create an appointment.
Upload your GP referral.
Upload some photographs of your skin condition.
Photographs of your skin condition can be taken on your smart phone.
You will receive a confirmation email of your appointment and a link to commence your video consultation.

2. Have your video consultation
You can have your consultation on your smart phone, tablet or computer. You’ll need internet access and microphone/sound/speakers.
Please download the Zoom Cloud Meeting app to your device before the video consultation.
Click on the "Begin Video" link in your confirmation email at the time of your appointment.
Have your video consultation with our dermatologists just as you would in our clinic.

3. Receive your treatment plan
You will receive advice from our dermatologist about the best course of action for your skin condition.
If you require a prescription for medication or a pathology test (eg blood test), the forms will be emailed and mailed to you after the consultation.
You will also be emailed a receipt that can be used for claiming your Medicare rebate (if applicable).
Book a review consultation with our dermatologist if required.

Metropolitan patients

Initial consultation $280 (with $75.05 Medicare rebate*)
Review consultation $200 (with $37.70 Medicare rebate*)

Rural or nursing home patients

Initial consultation $280 (with $112.55 Medicare rebate*)
Review consultation $200 (with $56.55 Medicare rebate*)

*For patients who are eligible for Telehealth Medicare rebate

We require full payment at the time of booking.
If you can cancel your appointment, you will be refunded the payment less a $50 fee.

It will help with the diagnosis to have several clear photographs of your skin condition in case your webcam or the internet connection offers poor quality video. These photographs can be taken with your smart phone and uploaded when you book your appointment.

The video consultation is 15 minutes in length. This is the same as a clinic appointment.

To access your Medicare rebate, you will require a referral from your GP. This applies to metropolitan, rural and nursing home patients. However, all patients may also book a private appointment without a GP referral if they wish.

Yes, all patients are eligible for a Medicare rebate with a current GP referral. You may also book a private appointment without a GP referral if you wish, however, Medicare rebates do not apply to this appointment type.

During your initial video consultation, the dermatologist will advise whether you require a review appointment. In some circumstances you may require a biopsy or the removal of a skin lesion that will need to be performed in the clinic.

Children can have a video consultation with our dermatologists. A parent or guardian needs to book the appointment on behalf of the child, and be present at the video consultation.

Your information and photographs are secure online. All of the data is securely encrypted and the platform is HIPAA compliant.
